I attended a Lord's Day morning service for more than fifteen years. I believed the Lord, but I cannot say for sure that I received salvation. I came to every meeting, loved to read the Bible, and attended many revival gospel meetings. When I heard something that really touched me, I shed many tears. These sweet experiences were quite vivid at that time, but faded away as time went by. I remained very much the same, and I started to wonder if this was all the Christian life was about. How could I make progress? My question didn't get answered until I discovered the local church.
It is there I learned of the great mystery, Christ and the church, that Paul the apostle spoke of in Ephesians 5. I learned of God's plan to dispense His life into all His chosen ones to build them up as His Body to express Him. I began to progress by taking in the unsearchable riches of Christ as my food, drink and enjoyment (John 6:57, 7:37). I can truly say I am being transformed, conformed, glorified, and constituted to be part of the corporate Body of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18; Romans 8:29-30; Ephesians 1:22-23). Thank Him!
